3G Network Shutdown Date Extended to October 28th, 2024

3G Network Shutdown Date Extended to October 28th, 2024

This is an important update regarding the Telstra 3G network shutdown.

The decommissioning date has been extended from August 31st, 2024 to October 28th, 2024.

This means that after October 28th, 2024, devices that are not 4G/5G/VoLTE compatible will no longer be able to connect to our network.

This includes the ability to make or receive calls, even emergency calls.

What You Need to Do

1. Check your device compatibility by texting “3G” to 3498.
2. If your devices are not compatible, please upgrade to a new phone or update your software (if possible) before October 28th.
3. If you have any questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact your account manager.

Additionally, we’re currently preparing individual lists of potentially impacted customers. These lists will be available through your respective Account Managers shortly.

We understand that this extension may impact your communication and support plans, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, we believe this additional time will provide you with a smoother transition to 4G/5G services.
